We are very pleased to share some exciting information with all of you who believe that gender equality in decision making matters.
The Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) and the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality (FEMM) of the European Parliament are planning to have a joint hearing this September on the Proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on improving the gender balance among non-executive directors of companies listed on stock exchanges and related measures (the ‘Women on Boards’ proposal).
The hearing will consist of contributions by four high-level speakers with expertise in the field of gender equality in company decision-making. EWoB is proud to announce that the Committee on Legal Affairs has invited Ms.Päivi Jokinen, the Chairwoman of EWoB to participate at this hearing as an expert speaker.
Ms Franziska Giffey, German Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, and Ms Helena Dalli, Commissioner for Equality, will also be invited to participate at the hearing.
