At the end of each year, I like to look back and reflect on the past days and weeks, what they have brought to us and what am I grateful for.
For European Women on Boards, 2019 was a year full of change, excitement and new initiatives. I was honored to take over the role of EWoB Chairwoman from Monique Lempereur who introduced the Women Empowerment in Leadership Program (WELP) with significant financing by the European Commission’s Rights, Equality and Citizenship program and started the European Gender Diversity research with an external agency. I will continue in her footsteps to support our mission to encourage both men and women to focus on equality in leadership and decision making.
With the WELP program, EWoB launched several professional development initiatives such as C-Level School, Digital Strategy Webinars and Mentoring Program.
Thanks to intensive networking, I have met many amazing business women with great experience and energy from more than 15 different European countries. Together we have met experts from the most dynamic business areas such as digital strategy, European boardroom trends and insights, agile management, leadership development and more.
In January we will introduce the EWoB Gender Diversity Index 2019 as the only research covering 600 companies from 17 European countries listed on STOXX Euro 600. We will name and award the winners and best practice leaders in gender diversity during the launch of the results on January 15.
There is a lot we can be proud of and yet even more we aim to do in 2020 to invite European leaders to join the change. We thank you sincerely for your support in this.
EWoB C-Level School
37 women business leaders from 14 European countries, have successfully completed a 3-day learning and networking program. CLS started in September 2019 and was closed on November 28th, 2019 in Brussels during a graduation ceremony.

Digital Strategy Webinar
More than 130 participants from 18 not only European countries attended one of two digital strategy webinars. The modules were presented by Odyssey with Colours of Data and supported by Cisco technology. Featuring number of experts from successful international companies, topics like new business ecosystems, big data, applying advanced and predictive data analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, were discussed.
Digital Strategy Mentoring Program
The EWoB cross–border Digital strategy mentoring program was introduced in September 2019 by Odyssey, the EWoB partner association from the Czech Republic. 20 mentoring pairs will be appointed in January 2020, Odyssey will guide the pairs through the twelve months mentoring journey.
